When we don't watch movies and tv shows people might ask why. What a great opening to telling them about the truth of God.

11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. 12 So, if you think you are standing firm,  be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is  faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:11-13

Why do we watch shows or movies with sexual immorality?
When we watch something we will absolutely dwell on it, for how long I do not know, but I do know that it is dwelled on. 1
second, 2 seconds, 1 minute, or hours it does not matter. We would be thinking about something that is worldly, something that is against God, something that  could ultimately be our ruin on Judgment Day!

 Where is the line drawn?
Do we watch a movie like "Brokeback Mountain," the world says it is good entertainment. There is something about it that is so  blatantly obvious that we know we should not take any part with it. The same goes for any show that has sexual immoral themes or ideas in it. When we watch  shows like that we are condoning them and tainting our minds with evil and  wicked things.

Do we want to dwell on a single thought that is sin? Do not choose to have even a single thought about sin if you do not have.

1 I will sing of your love and justice; to you, LORD, I will sing praise. 2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life— when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart. 3 I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it. 4The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil. 5 Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not tolerate. 6My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me. 7 No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house;  no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence. 8 Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer  from the city of the LORD.
Psalm 101

Are we considering stronger in our faith when we are able to watch these things and not feel tempted?
Possibly. The real question is that of spiritual strength. What is strength? Is strength about giving into to worldviews or worldly things that give us pleasure? Or is it about what we can overcome worldly desires to glorify God in our lives? I think with all my heart that it takes much more strength to say no to the world. How much harder is it to say no to watching your favorite television show and going to spend time in prayer, worship, or devotions? In that sense are we strong at all?!

Are we saying "NO" to the world and "YES" to God? Are we getting more pleasure from the world than God? Can our souls benefit from these worldly desires or are they just polluting our minds and hearts with garbage that interferes with our relationship with God?

My fear is that so many of us are getting deceived by each other and that no one is questioning what they do in every part of their life. We all need to come together to sharpen each other because frankly the world is making us all dull. Dull in discernment, dull to holiness, dull to purity, and dull to love.

*The reason that we crave such movies and relate so well is because those same stories are in our bible. Are you into action, romance, supernatural, drama, murder, or biographical movies and shows? Guess what the bible is loaded with these stories. They are all God-breathed stories about real people who did real things.

**There is only one way where I can see the reason for watching a certain show or movie and that is for analysis
purpose and not enjoyment. In order to reach out to a nonbeliever and make a
Godly impact on their lives. When this happens I do not know, but I am positive
that it is rare.

Intimacy with God means pursuing God more than anything else in your life.

Intimacy with God is better than the best pleasure of this world. It's better to seek God intimately than seek sexual desire. Do we desire God and are we content with desiring God. We have to give up everything in order to attain this  relationship with our Creator. What are we saying that we want in life and if we are saying we want God, are we pursuing that desire? We do not have the  power to love God. We can only love Him through His help. He helps us love Him  and others.

When we increase the value of something then we increase its importance.

Psalm  8:1-4 Stresses the importance of His name and His brilliance.

Praise = Strength in these verses. He has chose the weak to shame the strong.

To have faith like a child.

God gives Satan time to tempt us in order to give God more glory when we deny the evil of this world. We silence Satan when we choose God of any temptation of this world. This life is about knowing and being with God. Our pursuit needs to be God and God alone.

The greatest pursuit is the pursuit for God. The greatest intimacy is the intimacy with God. To be intimate and pursue someone in your life means for both of you  to pursue God and become intimate with God together. To truly pray with someone  is to give your heart and soul, the deepest part of yourself, to that person. The full openness of prayer with someone is the most difficult thing to  overcome.

How  many people in a relationship with one another actual spend time with God together? My guess is not that many because of all the hurt and turmoil in  relationships. To reach a level of intimacy that is beyond physical desires is to pursue intimacy with God. It is intimacy that shows us what the desires of  God are for our lives. People like Abraham, Moses, Elijah, David, and Paul were  in a constant pursuit of God and had such an intimate relationship with God. This relationship was more than just praying to, it was more than staring openly  in the sky, it was about conversations with God

Have  you ever had a conversation with God? Have you ever heard is audible voice in a whisper? Have you ever seen the brilliance of who He is? Are you pursuing this  intimacy with God or are you just devoting sometime to Him who created you?  What do you truthfully in your heart desire? Would you give up everything, house, wife, children, car, computer, phone, job, easy life to pursue Him? What  does it mean to pursue God?

Pursuit of anything without God is meaningless and is not God's will for our life.
Pursuit begins with acknowledging the importance of that in your life.

I am a college student who wants to seek out truth. It is so important to ask questions and get answers. That is what the bible has taught me. In everything we see God, and in everything there is God.
